St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Bookstore is a locally owned and operated Catholic bookstore dedicated to selling Catholic goods and promoting the Catholic faith in Western Kentucky.  Started in the living room of the Hedges', St. Max Books has grown much over the last ten years.  Now we are taking on the internet to expand our reach and to promote the faith throughout the United States.

Kelly and Bryan Hedges, the owners, live in Owensboro, Kentucky and are the parents of three children.   

St. Maximilian books is entrusted to the patronage of St. Maximilian Kolbe who began his own printing press distributing a monthly newsletter spreading the faith and devotion to the Blessed Mother in Poland.  His mission was to spread devotion by means of media.  It is through his inspiration that this bookstore continues to grow.

As we live and grow in our faith, we have learned that in the midst of many voices throughout the world, for good and for ill, there is a need for the timeless truths of the Church to be proclaimed louder than ever.  With the increase in Catholic publication we think that there is no better time to be a Catholic bookseller.  

But St. Max Books is not just a bookstore.  With the vast array of Catholic expression: film, art, and music, we want to be a part of spreading the wealth.  The Catholic Church has traditionally been a part of both promoting and preserving beautiful art, this is especially evident in so many beautiful churches in Europe.  We want to share the wealth.
